Strategy: Towards 2017

Development of the Towards 2017: Strategic Plan for Catholic Education in the Northern Territory has been a journey undertaken by many members of our Catholic learning communities - our Catholic school staff, students, families and the wider community.

The five-year plan creates a systemic approach for our school principals to lead their schools in creating the culture and practice of continuous improvement, to bring about improved learning outcomes and life opportunities for students. Each school is involved in implementing Towards 2017 through the School Improvement and Renewal Framework (SIRF).

SIRF is a framework of linked processes of planning, implementation and review, designed to enhance the quality and effectiveness of Catholic schools in the NT. SIRF focuses on six key areas of school life:

  • Catholic Identity
  • Leadership
  • Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
  • Finance, Facilities and Resources
  • Community and Culture
  • Teaching and Learning
In its Annual Report to the community, the CEO reports on school improvements achieved for student learning and identifies the priority areas for further improvement.
