Professional Pathways and Accreditation
Faith Formation
"Faith formation of catholic school community members is Christ-centred. It is an intentional, ongoing and reflective process that focuses on the growth of individuals and communities from their lived experiences, in spiritual awareness, theological understanding, vocational motivation and capabilities for mission and service in the Church and the world." (NCEC FFRE, 2017)
Study Incentive Programme (SIP)
The Catholic Education Office (CEO) has established the Study Incentive Program (SIP) to encourage all teaching and non-teaching staff including school leaders to develop higher-level professional skills and knowledge in areas that address the needs and priorities of Catholic schools and that build staff capacity and job satisfaction.
The Study Incentive Program reflects the CEO's commitment to principles of professional learning that encourage the development of a dynamic and collaborative learning culture in the work place, that provide opportunities for staff to engage in dialogue with lecturers and each other, and that deliver outcomes for staff that are relevant, sustained, contextualised and embedded in daily professional practice.

The Growing our Own (GOO) program
The Growing our Own (GOO) program is a joint venture between Catholic Education NT and Charles Darwin University. The program aims to increase the number of Indigenous teachers working in the Territory’s Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools (ACCS).
Accreditation
ACCREDITATION A Approval to work in a Catholic School
All employees in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Darwin are required to undertake 2 hours of professional learning in what it means to work in a Catholic school (1 hour) and the charism/ethos of the school community in which they work (1 hour).
ACCREDITATION B Approval to teach in a Catholic School
All teachers in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Darwin are required to complete six hours of approved professional development annually in order to maintain Accreditation A status each year of their appointment.
