This qualification provides foundation level skills and knowledge required for initial work, community involvement, or as an introduction to further learning in conservation and ecosystem management. Individuals will need to have basic foundational, technical and communications skills required to undertake defined routine tasks in conservation work in a highly structured work environment.
It covers learning how to maintain a safe workplace, use and maintain small machinery used in land management sectors, plant identification, and support natural area conservation work in parks, natural areas, agricultural lands or areas undergoing restoration.
