Northern Territory Teaching Career Opportunities

What to Expect with a Northern Territory Teaching Career

Teaching in the Northern Territory is a unique experience unlike any other — you’ll be presented with ample opportunities to transform young minds into exemplary members of the community.

Here’s what makes teaching in the Northern Territory so rewarding:

Opportunities for career growth

Educators who choose to work in the Northern Territory will be given more space and prospects to develop skills such as leadership. Having the opportunity to function in multifaceted roles or positions of leadership can accelerate your teaching career and open up future possibilities for growth that are hard to access in general metropolitan teaching environments.

Rewarding benefits

You’ll be well compensated as an educator in the Northern Territory. In addition to having one of the highest teaching salaries across Australia, you’ll also receive a teaching allowance to fund your ideal lifestyle, as well as other benefits ranging from extended leave and further study opportunities. A recent agreement between the Territory Government and the Australian Education Union (AEU) has also confirmed a 13 per cent pay rise over three years for teachers in the Northern Territory.

Open and accepting workplaces

You can expect to interact and work with a diverse range of people, languages, and cultures across our Catholic schools in the NT. Our educator teams are built on Christian values and have a welcoming and collaborative environment that focuses on delivering quality education while looking after our own.

Fulfilling and impactful work

Be responsible for the growth and development of the next generation of Territorians. Your work and efforts will make a big difference in the local community, helping young ones reach their full potential and build a more positive future for the region as a whole.
