Safeguarding Students

Student protection is everybody's business

Student Protection and wellbeing are paramount in Catholic Education Northern Territory.  Our commitment to the wellbeing of students is based on our Christian belief that every person is made in the image of God and children and young people are entrusted to us by the love of God. Making the school a place of safety and a nurturing community of care, is an essential part of our ethos and underpins our commitment to the protection of students.

Catholic Education Northern Territory makes every effort to ensure that we meet our legislative obligations to protect children and young people. The Student Protection Processes, Student Protection Guidelines and the Risk Management Strategy reflect the legislative and regulatory reporting requirements.  Each school has at least two nominated safeguarding coordinators from whom students, families and staff can access support and advice.

Catholic Education Office staff also carry out an educative role in relation to staff Child Protection training and other Student Protection strategies.

Please feel free to contact Christine Smith, Integrity Officer/ Child Safety Coordinator for additional information.
