Inspiring success for learning with diversity

Catholic Education NT and SRA head to the national Innovation Awards after taking out the Merit in the Business Service Markets Category in the NT & SA iAwards.

In March 2019, SRA Information Technology (SRA) in conjunction with CENT, launched an innovative new “EduTech” software product called; INSPIRE – learning with diversity.

In June, INSPIRE won the Merit award after beating the competition from across the NT and South Australia in the Business Service Markets Category of the NT & SA Innovation Awards. This was announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner event held at the Adelaide Convention Centre in front of a record breaking crowd including the SA Premier, Government Minsters and other VIPs.

The INSPIRE solution is an integrated software platform, that helps to identify students with learning disabilities, then suggests processes and teaching strategies based on the category, severity and demographics of the student. At the same time, INSPIRE collects all evidence required for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) scheme and helps schools submit their annual reports to secure funding for adjustments required to implement inclusive education practices.

These annual awards are hosted by Australia’s peak ICT body, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA). The iAwards is Australia’s longest running and most broadly scoped innovation recognition program, promoting excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem from the likes of Google Maps, Atlassian, Wotif and WiseTech Global.

AIIA CEO, Ron Gauci stated; “Each year the AIIA iAwards shine a light on the exceptional achievements of those at the forefront of Australian innovation, and the projects shaping our modern economy. We’re proud to celebrate and provide recognition, encouragement and a national platform for people seeking to bring an idea to life, enabled or supported by technology. Whether they’re in start-ups, the public sector, community services, school, academia, or private enterprise – small and large – the work of the
finalists is an inspiration to us all.”

“I want to congratulate SRA and Catholic Education NT on your success at the 2019 NT & SA iAwards. This incredible achievement means you have qualified to compete as a finalist at the National iAwards in Melbourne, late August and we wish you the best of luck.”

Tim Chopping (Sales & Marketing Executive for SRA) was quoted saying: “We are so very proud of this recognition. It proves the value of joint innovation in the Territory and that the INSPIRE story which has been built by CENT and SRA is going to be a great success.”

Greg O’Mullane, Director of Catholic Education NT stated that: “INSPIRE was making a real difference to the educational opportunities and lives of our students and their families.”
